The most successful Christmas musical in the German-speaking world, starring Sandy Mölling and Marie Wegener as the "Angels of Christmas."
The musical "Der Geist der Weihnacht" (The Spirit of Christmas) is based on Charles Dickens' world-famous classic "A Christmas Carol" from 1843, but it retells this famous story in a completely new way. Unlike in Charles Dickens' version, Scrooge's transformation here is not driven by fear, but by love. With this message, "Der Geist der Weihnacht" has become the most successful Christmas musical in the German-speaking world, attracting over 800,000 visitors.
Sandy Mölling and Marie Wegener alternate in the female lead role as the "Angel of Christmas": "No Angel" Sandy has already been celebrated for her portrayal of the angel at the Musical Dome Cologne, the Deutsches Theater Munich, and the Alte Oper Frankfurt. Marie Wegener, still the youngest DSDS winner of all time, already thrilled the Oberhausen audience last year as the angel.
"The Spirit of Christmas" enchants its visitors time and time again with atmospheric stage sets and exceptionally moving music.
It is not without reason that it is considered "the musical that opens hearts." It connects generations, from young to old, with the timeless message that it is never too late for change and compassion. A tribute to love!
