Ambitious TV host Lisa Wartberg has her eyes set solely on her career. But when her mother, Maria, one day sneaks out of the nursing home to elope to New York with her great love, Otto, Lisa’s life is suddenly turned upside down. Together with Otto’s son Axel and Axel’s son Florian, Lisa sets off in pursuit of the sprightly retirees and finally finds the two runaways aboard a cruise ship bound for New York.
